Bangaru Gaajulu (transl. Golden bangles) is a 1968 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by C. S. Rao from a story written by Rajasri. Produced by Tammareddy Krishna Murthy, it stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Bharathi, and Vijaya Nirmala with the music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao.[1] Released on 22 August 1968, the film won Nandi Awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, including Third Best Feature Film and Best Story Writer (Rajasri).

Plot

In Kotipalli, Ramu (ANR), Radha (Vijaya Nirmala) and brothers and sisters live together. Ramu's sister is the pancha pranas. The owner of the vuri rice mill is Raoji (Nagabhushanam), his follower Dasu (Jagga Rao) and Ramu works as a lorry driver in the mill. Raoji is pretending to be good on the surface by doing smuggling and illegal businesses. An addicted Raoji one day forces Radha when Ramu is not in Voori. Radha escapes from him and jumps into a river. Ramu, who came in search of his sister, pushes the murder of Sethji, whom they had killed earlier, to Ramu and portrays ramu as guilty of raoji's death. In search of his younger sister, Ramu reaches Hyderabad, where he joins Bhushayya (Relangi) as a car driver and takes shelter in the house of the previously introduced avatar (Padmanabham). There his younger sister Sharada (Bharathi) and his mother Shanthamma (Hemalatha) support him. Sharda loves Ramu. As Ravi, the circulating Ramu one day sees Radha (Vijaya Nirmala) who has suffered a head injury at a dance performance and saves her with his blood. Production

C. S. Rao scripted the film from the original story by Rajasri. The film has editing by Akkineni Sanjeev and cinematography by Kamal Ghosh. Art was handled by G. V. Subba Rao and choreography was by K. S. Reddy.

Soundtrack

Music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao. The lyrics were written by Dasarathi, C. Narayana Reddy, Kosaraju, and Arudra with vocals by Ghantasala, P. Susheela, L. R. Eswari, Madhavapeddi Satyam, and Vasantha.[2]
