Bhavani Sre (born April 4) is an Indian actress, singer, and assistant director in Tamil cinema. She started her acting career with the film Ka Pae Ranasingam and gained attention for her role in Thangam from the anthology Paava Kadhaigal. She later played the female lead in Vetrimaaran's movie Viduthalai.

Education and Early Career

Bhavani Sre pursued a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication from M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai. During her college years, she developed a passion for filmmaking and directed a couple of short films. Eager to further her career in cinema, she worked as an assistant director under renowned filmmakers, including A.L. Vijay on Idhu Enna Maayam (2015) and Priyadarshan on Sila Samayangalil (2018).

Acting Career

After honing her craft in filmmaking, Bhavani Sre transitioned into acting. She received professional acting training under the guidance of veteran actress Kalairani. Her acting debut came with the film Ka Pae Ranasingam (2020), where she starred alongside Aishwarya Rajesh and Vijay Sethupathi. Her performance in the film was well-received, earning praise from critics for her natural screen presence and acting prowess.

Following her debut, Bhavani Sre appeared in the anthology film Paava Kadhaigal (2020), specifically in the segment Thangam directed by Sudha Kongara. The story of Thangam won the hearts of many, and her performance was particularly highlighted as one of the memorable one in the anthology.

In 2023, Bhavani Sre garnered significant attention for her work in the film Viduthalai, directed by Vetrimaaran. Her portrayal in the film was widely appreciated by both audiences and critics, further establishing her as a talented actress in the Tamil film industry.

She also appeared in Nanban Oruvan Vandha Piragu, a light-hearted film centered around friendship. The movie showcased her versatility as an actress, as she adeptly handled the film’s warm and relatable themes.
