Chářovice is a municipality and village in Benešov District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 200 inhabitants.

The name is derived from the personal name Chář, meaning "the village of Chář's people".^[2]

Chářovice is located about 9 kilometres (6 mi) northwest of Benešov and 25 km (16 mi) south of Prague. It lies in the Benešov Uplands. The highest point is a nameless hill at 356 m (1,168 ft) above sea level. The municipal territory is rich in fishponds.

The first written mention of Chářovice is from 1394.^[3]
