Karhan, Uttar Pradesh

Karhan is a small town in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated in the midway of Chiraiyakot - Muhammadabad Gohna Road. Purvanchal Expressway is also passing through the town.

Notable people from here include the mystic saint Mir Shamsi, his descendants were the Zamindar under the British regime Muhammad Miyan (Maddu Miyan), famous poet & freedom fighter Shamim Karhani and Padma Shri awarded Syed Ali Jawad Zaidi. Meer Shamsi Lake is one of the major attractions, is an artificial lake which has been dug up in the early 1600s. Guradri mathh is a famous place where as Shiv mandir is one of the favourite temple.

There is a government inter college Janta inter college, 3 degree colleges, 1 post graduate college and 4 primary schools including the and nearest 10+ private schools and inter college.
