Khagrachari Sadar (Bengali: খাগড়াছড়ি সদর) is an upazila of Khagrachari District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Geography
Khagrachari is located at 23°02′30″N 91°59′40″E / 23.0417°N 91.9944°E / 23.0417; 91.9944. It has 24,316 households and total area 297.92 km2.

As of the 2011 Bangladesh census, Khagrachhari Sadar upazila had 24,316 households and a population of 111,833. 25,342 (22.66%) were under 10 years of age. Khagrachhari Sadar had an average literacy rate of 57.1%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 916 females per 1000 males. 69,434 (62.09%) of the population lived in urban areas.[1] The ethnic population was 68,952 (61.66%), of which Chakma were 31,431, Tripura 24,300 and Marma 12,939.[2]
According to the 1991 Bangladesh census, Khagrachhari had a population of 61,306. Males constituted 54.02% of the population, and females 45.98%. The population aged 18 or over was 32,215. Khagrachhari had an average literacy rate of 33.7% (7+ years), against the national average of 32.4%.[3]
Administration
Khagrachhari Sadar Upazila is divided into Khagrachhari Municipality and five union parishads: Bhaibonchhara, Golabari, Kamalchhari, Khagrachhari, and Parachara. The union parishads are subdivided into 13 mauzas and 246 villages.[4]
Khagrachhari Municipality is subdivided into 9 wards and 73 mahallas.[4]
There are two government middle schools and one government college (high school) in Kharachari upazila.
