Nahal Shamai (Hebrew: נחל שמאי) is an intermittent stream in the Upper Galilee. Its length is approximately 3.4 kilometers.
Course of the stream
The source of the stream is located at an elevation of about 575 meters above sea level, on the southern slopes of Mount Meron, about half a kilometer northeast of the Kfar Shamai and about two kilometers west of the industrial area of Safed. The stream flows south between Kfar Shamai and Safed, within the boundaries of the Mount Meron Nature Reserve.[1] At a distance of about 1.75 kilometers from the village of Amirim and about 3.7 kilometers north of the Nachal Amud junction, at an elevation of about 250 meters above sea level, the stream flows into Nachal Amud, which eventually drains into the Sea of Galilee.[2]
