A Leptobrachium[1] a kétéltűek (Amphibia) osztályába, a békák (Anura) rendjébe és a csücskösásóbéka-félék (Megophryidae) családjába tartozó nem.

Jellemzőjük a zömök test és a karcsú, rövid hátsó végtag.[2] A faj azonosításában a szivárványhártya színe jelentős segítséget nyújt (például a Leptobrachium bompu esetében a kék szem); egyes fajoknál a szivárványhártya egyforma színű, míg más fajok esetében a felső fele színes, az alsó fele sötét színű.[3]

Elterjedése

A nembe tartozó fajok Kínában, India északkeleti részén, az egykori Szunda-szárazföld szigetein, valamint a Fülöp-szigeteken honosak.[4]
