Dichotomyctere ialah genus buntal agak kecil yang dijumpai di kededua perairan tawar dan payau di Asia Selatan dan Tenggara.[1] Spesiesnya umumnya termasuk dalam genus Tetraodon sehinggalah 2013.[2][3] Spesies terbesar Dichotomyctere mencapai 17 cm (6.7 in) panjang.[1]
