Monechma is een geslacht van planten uit de acanthusfamilie (Acanthaceae). De soorten uit het geslacht komen voor in tropisch en zuidelijk Afrika, op het Arabisch Schiereiland, in India en op het vasteland van Maleisië.^[1]
