Le Monde du silence (sh. Svijet tišine) je francusko-italijanski cjelovečernji dokumentarni film snimljen 1956. u režiji Jacques-Yvesa Cousteaua i Louisa Mallea, poznat kao Malleov režijski debi, ali i kao jedan od najuspješnijih i najpopularnijih dokumentaraca u historiji filma.

Nastao je na temelju istoimene knjige u kojoj je Cousteau nekoliko godina ranije opisao svoju oceanografsku ekspediciju na brodu RV Calypso. Snimljen je na novoj eskpediciji, na koju je Cousteau pozvao mladog Mallea, i koja je trajala dvije godine. Tom prilikom su Cousteau i njegova posada putovali Mediteranom, Perzijskim zaljkevom, Crvenim morem i Indijskim oceanom te snimili preko 25.000 metara podvodnih snimaka. Premijerno je prikazan na Kanskom festivalu, gdje je izazvao pažnju i kao jedan od prvih filmova sa podvodnim snimkama u boji. Na njemu je nagrađen Zlatnom palmom, postavši prvi dokumentarni film koji je dobio nagradu pod tim imenom; to će dostignuće ponoviti jedino Mooreov Fahrenheit 9/11 godine 2004. Kasnije je osvojio i Oscar za najbolji dokumentarni film.
